             _______________________________________
Hello, is this frequency in use? [Wait 10 seconds with squelch open]

This is [first name, call sign] Net Control for the Battalion 6 area NERT net. This net meets each Tuesday night at 8:30 pm on this frequency – 147.555 simplex with no tone.

Stations with emergency traffic may break in at any time.

The purpose of this net is to provide ongoing training and practice for amateur radio operators in both radio operations and emergency communications. You do not need to be a member of NERT to participate in this net, as visitors are always welcome.
This is a directed net - all stations please direct comments to Net Control only and wait to be acknowledged before continuing.

Once your callsign is acknowledged by net control, please give the following report. Your callsign again, your name, your location and if you have any traffic for the net.

Before we start check-ins, is there any emergency or priority traffic? If so, please come now with your call sign. [wait 5 seconds for any traffic with sqetch open]

Hearing none, I’d like to start with regular check ins. Please come with your callsign only now in groups of 3 [wait for 1-3 checkins. Write them down]

Thank you, I acknowledge [number of checkins]
[callsign # 1] please come now with your report [listen and log report]
[callsign # 2] please come now with your report [listen and log report]
[callsign # 3] please come now with your report [listen and log report]
Thank you, I’d like to continue with checkins… Please come with your callsign only now in groups of 3 [wait for 1-3 checkins. Write them down]

[Continue with the above script until no more checkins are heard]

[If we have some on the opposite side of Bernal Hill you may wish to have them be backup Net Control and ask for any checkins that can hear them, but not you, to be relayed into you.]

[callsign] Can you do a general call and see if there is anyone needing a relay into to net control tonight?]

[if they say yes] Thank you, net control will stand by

[backup net control will then say] This is [callsign] backup net control for tonight’s Battalion 6 net, if you can hear me, please come back with your callsign. After I acknowledge you, please give the following report:

Your callsign again, your name and your general location or cross streets and if you have any traffic for the net.

[back up net control should handle all traffic, writing it down and then when done, relay it over to Primary Net control one by one waiting for acknowledgement and guidance from primary net control]

[at the end of the net] Thank you all for joining the net tonight, we hope to talk to you again next Tuesday night at 8:30pm on this frequency 14.7555 simple. This is [callsign] CLEAR [and optionally saying MONITORING if you are going to stay on frequency for a while after the net]
